RCBF Crowdfunding campaign 2020-21
On Nov 28,2020 the Rotary Club of Bangkok Foundation launched their first crowdfunding campaign “Healthy now, Healthy always” to raise funds for charity project goals as follows:
- Open Opportunities: Rotary Nursing Scholarships will help bridge the shortage of registered nurses in Thailand. A budget of Baht 900,000 will provide scholarships to 12 student nurses at Baht 25,000/year/nurse over 3 years. In partnership with the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University and Kuakarun Faculty of Nursing, Navamindradhiraj University.
- Bring Hope: Provide corrective surgery for children with cleft lip/palate deformities in rural areas in partnership with the Thai Red Cross Mobile Clinic. Rotary logistics support covering cost of operation, medicines, pre and post operative care and miscellaneous expenses at Baht 5000 per case will facilitate surgical operations for 180 children with a budget of Baht 900,000.
- Support Life: Provide kidney dialysis machines to King Mongkut Memorial Hospital in rural Petchaburi Province where number of cases are far exceeding the support infrastructure. With a budget of Baht 900,000 Rotary’s two Hemodialysis Machines will support kidney dialysis patients continue their normal lives with an estimated 30,000 dialysis sessions over the life of the machines.
To execute the campaign, the online donation platform www.rotarynewhope.org was created. The same platform can also be accessed through www.RCBFoundation.org and will support future online donations to the Foundation.
The campaign lasted up to March 31, 2021 and was supported by celebrity musician Hugo Chakrabongse who composed a new campaign song “A Little Love” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2djUxp5cGU). And supported by B. Grimm group who provided a 1:1 corporate match up to Baht 490,000.

We were able to cover the shortfall in goals through additional sponsorships from a fundraising dinner to coincide with Rotary Club of Bangkok’s 90th anniversary in Thailand.
